Homophone Lesson

Let’s review. Homophones are words that are spelled and pronounced the same as other words. Now let’s discuss homophones. Words like this make learning English difficult for non-English Speakers, especially since English is phonetically learned. However there are exceptions, and these words are the exception to the rules. For example, in phonetics, words are sounded out by syllables. Native English speakers simply know these words are different when they see them from familiarity and repetition. Let’s do the following exercises together. I am going to spell the word out for you so you can hear the difference phonetically.
Now let’s do some more exercises-Fill in the blank
These words are almost the same meaning but have different spellings. I will use a sentence to make them more clear. Allowed- means what is prohibited and not prohibited by an entity. Hay or  hey. Hay is something that horses and
livestock eat and use for bedding. Hey is a greeting similar.
